THE COOPERATION AGREEMENT IN THE FIELD OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN THE CAPITAL
Implementing the great orientation and key task “Innovating and improving quality in the field of Planning – Architecture in the Capital”, on the morning of September 29, 2022, the Hanoi People’s Committee, the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Hanoi Association of Architects had a working session and signed a cooperation agreement in the upcoming period (2022-2026).
Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Duong Duc Tuan – Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee; Mr. Phan Dang Son – Chairman of Vietnam Association of Architects, Editor-in-Chief of Architecture Magazine; Mr. Nguyen Van Hai – Chairman of Hanoi Architects Association with representatives of departments and branches of the City People’s Committee, representatives of the Vietnam Association of Architects and representatives of the Hanoi Association of Architects and press agencies.
At the meeting, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan – Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee said that the purpose of signing this cooperation is to make the best use of the intellectual resources of the team of experts, scientists, managers … in order to improve the quality of planning and architecture in the Capital, ensuring the inheritance of traditions, adapting to the economy and future development trends in a sustainable way. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Hanoi Association of Architects in the field of scientific research, consulting, appraisal and criticism in the field of planning and architecture in the period of 2022-2026 and orientation in the next time.

He also outlined some of the main points of cooperation during this period, namely:
- Participation in the Councils of the City (Including Architect councils, Planning appraisal councils, Councils for reviewing, granting and renewing architectural practice certificates; Council for appraisal of the list of valuable architectural works, Council for architectural examination and planning …)
- Activities of scientific research, regulations development, legal documents
- Activities of consulting and social criticism.
In 2022, the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Hanoi Association of Architects in collaboration with UNBD Hanoi will organize workshops, social criticism and examination for a number of architectural works located in important areas of the City, participate in the implementation and review, classify and catalog of valuable works built before 1954 in Hanoi, urban design of some historical inner city areas to meet urgent requirements on planning, architecture and development management of Hanoi Capital.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phan Dang Son – Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects expressed: “Hanoi is the administrative-political center, the “heart” of the whole country, and is also oriented to be a guiding architectural center for Vietnamese architecture, and Hanoi itself has also done that. With the fierceness in orientation and the strength in development and creativity, Hanoi has been creating many development opportunities in the present and future”. He also emphasized: “Mr. Duong Duc Tuan had cited the very clearly the cooperation items between the Vietnam Association of Architects and Hanoi Association of Architects. The Vietnam Association of Architects will cooperate in the spirit of professional accuracy and being very actively for the development of the country’s architecture. Hopefully, with the full cooperation, in the coming time, Hanoi will create the most new points for the whole country. ”

Attending the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai – Chairman of Hanoi Architects Association also expressed: “Today’s signing ceremony is a particularly important cultural – political event for the Hanoi Association of Architects. This is the first official opportunity for the Association to work and contribute to Hanoi – A first milestone for Hanoi architects to look back and contribute more to Hanoi. With clear instructions, Hanoi architects will better perform their tasks. On behalf of the Hanoi Association of Architects, I would like to commit to implementing the best of the instructions and contents signed today. We will make Hanoi become the “leader” of architecture across the country.”

The cooperation program between Hanoi People’s Committee, Vietnam Association of Architects, Hanoi Association of Architects will take effect from 29/09/2022 to 30/12/2026. The Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture cooperates with the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Hanoi Association of Architects to develop specific cooperation contents, implementation plans, be responsible for synthesizing and reporting the results of implementation of annual cooperation contents and to proposing the cooperation contents in the following years.
