THE BLEND OF SCULPTURE AND LIGHT

On the evening of 23/12, the exhibition “Thông Linh” with 50 sculptures and light installations by artist-professor Ngo Xuan Binh opened at Hanoi Museum.

From the artist’s creative point of view, “Ego-Thông Linh” is  opening up a new space of harmony between the human ego and the future of society to create good values in the community life and for each individual. It is the harmony of man with heaven and earth so that the ego is liberated and promoted in the midst of the commonality oriented to modern space.

With that meaning, 50 works from many different materials such as stone, wood, and copper titled “Thiên mệnh (Heavenly Destiny),” “Nhân Linh (Human Spirit),” “Hồng Hoang (The beginning of the world)”, “Thiên giới (Heavenly Realm)” “Nghĩa sinh (Meaning)”… has given art lovers entirely new perspectives on the art of sculpture.

Painter Ngo Xuan Bính is a pioneer in opening up the style of urban art in the new era, both modern and traditional. The display of his works at the Hanoi Museum gives the public a new perspective on contemporary Vietnamese sculpture

The exhibition of sculpture installation “Thông Linh” is considered the largest solo exhibition ever in Hanoi.

With a massive volume of works both in terms of scale and direction of messages and ideas, the exhibition also shows the remarkable creativity of an artist for his brainchildren.

Along with the exhibition “Ego – Người (Ego – People)”, the exhibition of sculpture installation “Thông Linh” is considered the largest solo exhibition ever in Hanoi. The exhibition will last until the end of March 2023.
