
CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION “MỘT MỐI XA THƯ”
Inspired by a couple of couplets: “Xa thư cộng đạo kim thiên hạ/ Khoa giáp liên đề cổ học cung” (Thiên hạ nay, xa thư về cùng một mối/ Nhà học xưa, khoa giáp xuất hiện liền nhau) conveying the praise for the country, the traditional studiousness spirit, talents appeared in large numbers. The Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam in collaboration with Nhan My school of Calligraphy organized and opened the calligraphy exhibition “Một mối xa thư”.
The exhibition takes place on 20/11, at the Special National Monument of Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam. The exhibition gathered more than 100 Han Nom and National language calligraphy works by 65 calligraphers from all over the country and internationally. The works on display with content are distilled from Vietnamese literary works and literary heritage associated with the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam, praising the beauty of the country’s homeland, the spirit of studiousness, respect for the religion, and respect for the talents of the Vietnamese people. The expression form of the calligraphy work is rich with Kanji, Nom, National language with calligraphy brush and iron pens. This is also the first time that the iron pen genre has been included in the calligraphy exhibition, deepening the inheritance that goes with the promotion of traditional calligraphy in the contemporary Vietnamese cultural space.

The exhibition “Một mối xa thư” is an activity in the series of 50 events of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2022. From this exhibition, the Organizers hope to continue to receive close coordination between domestic and foreign management agencies and research agencies, especially calligraphy clubs in Hanoi, provinces and cities throughout the country to have many practical creative activities and increasing scale to raise awareness of the community, especially of the young generation in preserving and promoting cultural heritages and effectively implementing Resolution 09 of the Hanoi City Committee on cultural industry development to 2025, vision to 2030 and orientation to 2045. And especially building Hanoi Capital to become a civilized and modern city.
The exhibition will take place until the end of 27/11/2022 at the Thai study area of the Special National Monument of the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam.
