The exhibition “Hang Trong comic” is taking place at the Vietnam Women’s Museum that attracts the attention of the public and traditional art lovers. 40 paintings drawing familiar stories in the cultural and spiritual life of the ancient Vietnamese. Each set of paintings consists of 4 pictures, vividly showing the familiar stories in the treasure of Han – Nom stories handed down in folklore from past to present. Through the sophistication and unique of wood engraving techniques, color -coloring techniques of artisans, the lines of folk paintings represent the typical representative of Vietnam’s unique folk art.
Expressing the excitement when watching the paintings at the Vietnam Women’s Museum, Ms. Nguyen Mai Phuong (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi) shared, before, she only knew about Hang Trong paintings with some paintings Worship, Tet paintings, so when she came to the Hang Trong comic show at the Women Museum, she was surprised to see the comic books on display here, in which many stories she had been read, or heard.

According to researcher Phan Ngoc Khue, Son Hau painting series is a series of comics that have many successes in art. The content of the painting set is taken from the classical play. Author Dao Duy Tu (1572 – 1634) is the one who started the Son Hau Tuong. In 1871, Dao Tan (1845-1907) was then a letter in the Nguyen Dynasty’s cabinet, which was attached to this play. The content of the play is also the content of the Son Hau comic with the intention of promoting the moral example of Trung Trung, Hieu, Tiet, meaning of the heroic men with Dung – Luoc, such as: Dong Kim Lan , Khuong Linh Ta, Le Tu Trinh and the young women, such as: Dong Mau (Dong Kim Lan’s mother), Mrs. Nguyet Hao Tam Cung … are women who are strategic, ready to sacrifice her body to her body Save, Pho Nguyet.
