ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLANS FOR THE APPLICATION OF AGRICULTURAL WASTE REUSE AND RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES

Hanoi People’s Committee has just issued Decision No. 3119/QD-UBND, dated 30/8/2022 on the plan to promote the reuse and recycling of organic waste, agricultural by-products into raw materials, fuels and environmentally friendly products connecting the value chain of organic agricultural products in Hanoi city,  period 2023-2025.

Accordingly, city departments and sectors will implement the objectives in the plan to improve the material and spiritual quality of life of rural people; encouraging the development of plans to apply technologies for reuse and recycling agricultural waste and agricultural by-products associated with the organic agricultural production chain, serving the circular economy; ensuring the living environment of people in green, clean, beautiful, safe and civilized rural areas.

Applying technology to agricultural waste recycling

In particular, changing the habits, awareness and thinking of producers, not only for organic agricultural production facilities, but also the whole population, in order to achieve sustainable production and consumption, contributing to the protection of the agricultural environment, rural and towards circular economy, green growth. Increase the reuse and recycling of organic waste, agricultural by-products into raw materials, fuels and environmentally friendly products. Increase economic efficiency when using recycled products from organic waste, agricultural by-products compared to previous materials in organic production processes.

Composting straw as organic fertilizer

The city strives that 100% of rural people have access to information on collecting and processing organic waste, agricultural by-products into raw materials, fuels and environmentally friendly products for connecting the value chain of organic agricultural products through the media. It is expected that about 150,000 people representing 150,000 households involved in agricultural production will receive technical training on enhancing the application of biotechnology in the recycling of livestock waste, crop by-products into organic raw materials to make on-site organic fertilizer for circular agricultural production.
