HANOI CREATIVE DESIGN FESTIVAL 2022
Carrying on the Plan No. 229/KH-UBND dated 25/8/2022 of the Hanoi People’s Committee on the organization of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2022; The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports informed reporters representing television agencies, central and Hanoi press agencies about the content of activities taking place at the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022.
Under the direction of the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Architecture Magazine (Vietnam Association of Architects), in collaboration with the Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, and the cooperation of UNESCO Representative Office in Hanoi, the UN Human Settlements Programme UN-HABITAT and the Viet Nam Handicraft Export Association (Vietcraft).

The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 is an annual activity to implement the initiative, commitment to UNESCO for Hanoi to joins the Creative Cities Network and is a continuation of the success of Unleashing Creativity Week 2021. This year’s festival focuses on the theme of Design & Technology, with the scale of the event and expanded space to create conditions for Hanoi residents and domestic and international tourists to visit and enjoy the festival atmosphere. The event contributes to connecting and expanding cooperation between organizations, experts, domestic and international enterprises, raising awareness of businesses and social communities in the field of creative design and the development of cultural industries.
Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 includes the following activities:

- Location: Ly Thai To Monument Flower Garden.
- Activities within the framework of Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022
From November 11 to 20, there are expected to be nearly 50 activities and events such as exhibitions, workshops, talk shows, cultural and artistic activities with many creative, interactive, experiential and educational elements. Some exhibitions and displays within the framework of the Festival will continue to be open to the public until the end of November 2022 or longer; The events took place at different locations in the city; most of them will be hold in Hoan Kiem district: Ly Thai To Park, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Center for Cultural and Arts (22 Hang Buom), Ho Guom Cultural Information Center (No. 2 Le Thai To), Exhibition Hall (45 Trang Tien), Exhibition Information Center (93 Dinh Tien Hoang), the entire walking street space around Hoan Kiem Lake.
On this occasion, a variety of activities will take place in other spaces such as Hanoi Museum, the Centre of Vietnamese Quintessential Craft Villages (Bat Trang, Gia Lam district), Bac An Khanh urban area (Hoai Duc district), Trinh Cong Son walking street (Tay Ho district), Son Tay Citadel walking street (Son Tay town), Dream Art Space, and some other cultural creative spaces in the city.
In particular, the architectural space of Hanoi Creative Design Festival conveys the message of connecting tradition with modernity. Unique and iconic design works such as Creative Gate, Integration Space, Traditional Space are used for exhibitions, displays and demonstrations, as well as being the places for residents and visitors to interact and form a new perspective on the creative capital Hanoi.
Aiming to become part of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022, the Organizers has launched creative design contests for young creators, in order to encourage the participation of young people in the construction of space for the city in the future. There are 04 contests launched during the festival: Public Art Design Competition 2022; Dream House Contest; the Quick Design Competition – Preserving and Promoting Factory Heritage; Photo contest gives teenagers “Hanoi from a perspective”.
Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 continues to highlight Hanoi’s creative resources by connecting artists, creative designers, experts in many different fields such as architecture, fine arts, music, theater, technology.
In order to promote Hanoi’s cultural resources, strongly enhance the development of the community and creative talents, create a highlight for Hanoi at the national and regional level. Through the event, Hà Nội’s authorities call on all people to join hands to build the capital, from a City for Peace to a UNESCO Creative City. With the central task of putting creativity at the heart of sustainable development, the event will make Hanoi the Creative Capital of Southeast Asia, a destination of knowledge and creativity in the world.
