IMPLEMENTING THE ACTIVITIES OF CREATIVE CITY IN 2022
On the morning of August 3rd, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Do Dinh Hong chaired a meeting with the Vietnam Association of Architects, Architecture Magazine, UNESCO Viet Nam Office in Hanoi, UN-habitat Viet Nam (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Representatives of universities, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion and related units and organizations on the implementation of the activities of Creative City in 2022.
Stakeholders present the specific contents of Creative Design Week 2022.
Accordingly, the Creative Design Week 2022 with the theme “Design and Technology” is expected to take place from November 11 to November 18, 2022 at the Art Exchange Center of 22 Hang Buom (Hoan Kiem), Hoan Kiem Lake walking street and some points in the central area of Hanoi.
At the creative design week, there will be many activities of discovery, experience, training, exchange of experiences, exhibition activities and networking.
Creative Design Week 2022 is scheduled to open on November 11, 2022. Along with that is a series of activities such as: Displaying and introducing handicraft products, handicrafts with creative design, displaying, introducing activities in the field of creative design of embassies, international organizations and experience activities, creative space taking place in the walking street area around Hoan Kiem Lake. In addition, at the Art Exchange Center at 22 Hang Buom (Hoan Kiem), there are creative art performances, exhibition, display and introduction activities in the field of creativity; awarding and summarizing competitions; honoring and introducing creative hubs and talk shows, trainings and seminars.
At the meeting, delegates listened to a summary report on the project of organizing the international workshop “Building creative design centers – experiences from UNESCO creative cities in the region” as well as the plan to organize the “Creative Hanoi ” Contest 2022-2023 of the University of Industrial Fine Arts.
Speaking at the meeting, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Do Dinh Hong wished that, with the theme “Design & Technology”, the Creative Design Week 2022 will once again affirm the vitality and creative resources of Hanoi; connecting young creators in many different cultural industries to promote Hanoi’s cultural resources, increasingly developing the creative community.

Following the activities in 2021 and aiming to implement the Plan to implement initiatives to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network by 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee, the Vietnam Association of Architects directs the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Architecture Magazine (Vietnam Association of Architects), and coordinating units UNESCO, UN-Habitat, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee to jointly organize a series of activities for Creative Design Week 2022. With the theme “Design & Technology”, through the Week aims to improve capacity and create a forum for exchanging and connecting stakeholders in the field of creative design. Thereby inspiring and motivating the development of Hanoi in particular and sustainable cities throughout Vietnam.
