The program is implemented in partnership with three UN agencies – UNESCO, UNIDO, UN-Habitat, and is part of the Hanoi Rethink Project – Component to promote the creative and digital industries in Hanoi.

After 02 days of being directly present at the 8th floor hall, USTH building – the teams had the opportunity to exchange and finish with an impressive presentation and product demo.
Launched from 11/07 to 15/08/2022, the Make-a-thon challenge aims to promote the creative and digital industries in Hanoi; towards the goal of finding new ideas to develop the values and heritage of the city in the cultural and creative economy.
To welcome the candidates, there is a technical workshop to orient and support the application of technology to complete sample products. Through the workshop, the candidates have found for themselves the necessary solutions and equipment to perfect sample products such as 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC technology – creating a premise for the further development of future projects.
Accompanying the teams are also domestic and international mentors – from technical support to sharing on creative communication; In particular, Make-a-thon is also honored to welcome Cynthia Mann from Future Traditions with her story of sustainable fashion. With skillful hands, Cynthia has transformed secondhand fashion products into unique, extending the product life cycle with impressive combination between modern and traditions, old and modern beauty as the name Future Traditions. Through the sharing from the speakers, a creative direction in the way of communication is also promoted, supporting the teams with new methods to promote products effectively.

The end of the event was a presentation and demo of products from the teams, attracting a lot of attention from the Organizers as well as the participating teams. Duy Anh – “Mỳ tôm xanh” team shared: “The most basic difference of make-a-thon lies in the fact that this is a playground for contestants to freely exchange and improve knowledge without placing more emphasis on competitiveness. From that orientation, the Organizers invited many experts from different fields to participate in the program so that they could share experiences and perspectives from many aspects, contribute to expanding the contestants’ vision. In addition to the advice from the mentor, we also have the opportunity to realize the idea together to learn and receive very real sharing from different teammates.”
