“Phù Thế” exhibition: Uncover the beauty in transience
From March 15 to June 30, 2025, “Phù Thế – The Beauty in Transience.” was held in the boutique space of Ka Koncept, 3 Hai Bà Trưng, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi. The exhibition invited visitors into a calm, thoughtful space where four contemporary artists captured and preserved the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Their works explored the idea that even short, fleeting moments can hold deep meaning.

“Phù Thế,” a term drawn from Sino – Vietnamese, refers to the transience of the world around us. Like early summer sunlight or a fleeting scent, it reflects moments that are delicate and brief. The exhibition brings together four contemporary artists whose works aim to capture and reinterpret this sense of impermanence that offers a quiet reflection on beauty in its most passing forms.
Featured in the exhibition are four artists: Đỗ Duyên, Trịnh Quỳnh Trâm, Đan Quốc Chính, and sculptor Trần Thược. Though each contributes a unique perspective, they are united by a shared interest in exploring impermanence and emotional connection through art.
For Đỗ Duyên, art is an instinctive flow of the soul, crystallized on delicate silk through soft, feminine brushstrokes. She is drawn to the medium’s vivid color absorption and its natural movement, which allow her to immerse herself fully in each breath of the creative process. Her work is inspired by everyday memories: her daughter, flowers and foliage, or flying fish which are the symbols of joy, vitality, and hope.

Trịnh Quỳnh Trâm’s artworks break the old norms of composition, reflecting an ongoing dialogue between emotion and reason, and allowing each viewer the freedom to interpret art in their own way. The artist often draws inspiration from small creatures or spontaneous feelings, with visual associations that hint at the cosmos or science fiction.
After experimenting with various materials, painter Đan Quốc Chính eventually returned to oil painting. His works are marked by strong, vibrant color fields layered clearly over one another, combined with minimal lines and natural tones which are key elements in his distinctive style. Chính’s paintings mirror his personality: simple and calm, filled with profound thoughts and reflections in his thirties.

In the sculptural works of Trần Thược, the forms are deeply inspired by his hometown, Ninh Bình known for its forests, limestone mountains, and caves. At the “Phù Thế” exhibition, his piece “Dòng chảy” (The Flow), shaped from soft, flowing grains of “nhội” wood, becomes a visual symphony that draws from the majestic natural beauty of this landscape. It seems that the spirit of Ninh Bình is embedded in the core of his artistic language.
“Phù Thế” is presented by The Muse Artspace – an organization dedicated to curating exhibitions and introducing emerging artists to the public. In collaboration with The Muse, Ka Koncept – a retail unit specializing in luxury perfumes, home fragrances and skincare brands. This space allows audiences to experience art through all the senses, awakening emotions through visual artistry, immersive scent events, and the harmonious blending of fragrance with fashion and cinema.
The exhibition is open daily from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM at Ka Koncept Flagship Store, 3 Hai Bà Trưng, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi, and closes on June 30, 2025.
