THE RED RIVER TRASH AREA TRANSFORMED INTO ARTSPACE
Sixteen artworks under the project The Red riverside renovation, have transformed the riverside street from a makeshift garbage collection site into a unique and fascinating artspace.
The garbage collection site, along the Red River in Hoan Kiem District’s Phuc Tan Ward in Hanoi, has now become an artspace.

This project is inspired by the history and culture of Thang Long – Ke Cho – a former busy marketplace in Hanoi. This place used to be the witness to each flood season which attaching the memories of so many generations of people.
The artworks are performed on the walls creatively. In the photo, there is an artwork by Diego Cortiza, a Spanish designer. The artwork is made of the chicken cages from Long Bien market and broken mirrors.

In the artwork ‘Overall reflection’. Artist Can Van An used thousands of small pieces of mirror attaching on a seven-meter-long boat. The work evokes the image of people having fighted against floods.
