Exhibition of paintings from recycled canvas
On April 12, the exhibition “Touching a Flower” opened at the Atena Fine Arts Club gallery, 96 Tran Quoc Toan, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
The exhibition is within the framework of the 4V – For “Fabric” For Vietnam project, organized by a group of young students in collaboration with the Atena Fine Arts Club, to spread the meaning and spirit of using textiles. Recyclable materials such as rags can be made into colorful canvases and used in the field of painting, thereby minimizing the negative impact on the environment of waste in the textile industry.
The exhibition “Touching a Flower” displays over 40 works by 41 artists, coming from many provinces, cities, and different regions across the country. The works displayed at the exhibition were created by artists on canvases recycled from scraps of fabric.
Exhibition curator – artist Vu Tuan Viet shared that 41 artists from all over the country brought a colorful art space to the exhibition. The works are diverse in topic, content and expression. Through a familiar yet unfamiliar material – recycled rags, each work is the artists’ personal connection with new materials, a search for experiments, individual voices, and expressions. individual… of each artist.
A representative of the Organizing Committee said that the exhibition’s goal is to create many positive changes in each individual’s awareness and actions towards environmental protection, paying more attention to sustainability. use in life.
4V Vietnam is a project organized by a group of students from universities in Hanoi city. With the idea of recycling rags and applying them in the field of painting, project members want to raise community awareness about green lifestyle without waste, through recycling rags, excess fabrics Textile industry.
Within the framework of the exhibition, many meaningful artistic activities. At the opening ceremony on April 12, the public was able to watch the live show creation of spray paintings at the display space and interact with the artist. On Sunday, April 14, the workshop will take place on recycled cloth as “Touch”. The paintings will be auctioned to raise funds for the Fine Arts Scholarship Fund of 4V Vietnam and planting projects.
