Art Coordination Annual Meeting – ACAM 2025: A gathering for Vietnam’s art coordinators

From September 26–28, 2025, Hanoi will host the first Art Coordination Annual Meeting (ACAM), bringing together professionals who work behind the scenes in Vietnam’s creative sector. The event is co-organized by Hanoi Grapevine and AiRViNe, with the support of partners in Vietnam and Japan.

ACAM 2025 aims to acknowledge and strengthen the role of art coordinators who work behind the scenes of creative projects and are often overlooked. These individuals connect artists, curators, art spaces, and communities, while handling key responsibilities such as scheduling, logistics, administration, and the translation of artistic visions into reality.

The three-day program includes seven sessions focusing on the practices of coordination in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Topics include: defining art coordination; community project development; accessibility for people with disabilities and underrepresented audiences; regional and international collaboration; organizing festivals and biennales with limited resources; and innovation in public art. A closing dialogue will be dedicated to presenting papers, essays, and practice-based research from attendees.

Through ACAM, the organizers hope to create a space for knowledge-sharing, skills development, and networking among coordinators in Vietnam and beyond. The event also promotes intergenerational and cross-sector dialogue around ethics, accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability in the arts.

Applications are open to coordinators, artists, researchers, and cultural workers both locally and internationally. Proposals may take the form of talks, discussions, workshops, research papers, photo essays, or experience sharing. Selected participants will receive speaker fees, travel and accommodation support (for those based outside Hanoi), and the opportunity to be featured in the bilingual ACAM 2025 journal.

Deadline: 23:59, July 15, 2025

In addition to the Hanoi-based activities, selected content will be compiled into a print or digital publication to be shared across regional art networks. ACAM is expected to become an annual event rotating across cities in Southeast Asia, contributing to the professionalization of art coordination in the region.
