Digital Architecture: Redefining space & The new role of the architect

That is the content of the talk show that took place on the afternoon of August 2, 2025 atCA’ Architecture Library, Agohub, 2nd floor, Kingled building, 210 Giai Phong, Phuong Liet ward, Hanoi.

TIn an age where digital technology is reshaping every field, architecture is now not only a tool for rendering but also expanding into a platform that changes the way architects think, work and even their social responsibilities.

InWith the participation of Ngo Dang Minh, a Master’s student at the Architectural Association (London), the talk show will bring for architects, architecture students or anyone interested in the future of design and technology a comprehensive perspective on this shift. The speaker will introduce the theoretical foundations formed in the 20th century through the works and ideas of John Frazer, Nicholas Negroponte, Cedric Price, Frei Otto, Gaudi or the Metabolism movement, which led to the emergence of artificial intelligence in architectural thinking.

The content will then expand into contemporary practice with the rise of parametricism, tectonism and self-assembling models, showing how digital technology is redefining architectural form and spatial experience.

An important highlight of the talkshow was the new role of the architect, not only limited to creating shapes but also in the ability to organize complex systems, connecting technology with cultural elements to find a balance between globality and local identity – what the speaker called “digital regionalism”.

With a theoretical yet practical approach, the talk is an open discussion forum where attendees can ask questions and reflect on the future of architecture in the digital age.
