Book launch “REPLY – Simple Sounds”: A Story of architectural design – Quiet but durable
On August 16, 2025, at TOTO Information Center (Hanoi), the architectural book “REPLY – Simple Sounds” was officially launched in a conversation between the architect, the author and the editorial team. This is a collaborative project of TOOB Studio and NOTES, two units that have been associated with architectural practice, research and publishing for many years – aiming to open a new dialogue on how architecture touches everyday life.

For more than 10 years of practicing architecture, Architect Nguyen Hong Quang and his colleagues at TOOB Studio have always been steadfast in one path: Taking people as the center, considering architecture as a place to establish a close relationship between individuals, nature and the community. The book REPLY not only collects typical projects, but is also a quiet response from the group of authors – Seemingly “secondary” elements such as natural light, materials, space, furniture, appear as highlights, nurturing a gentle, quiet but profound spatial life.

The book launch event is an opportunity for readers and the architectural community to listen to the journey of the book’s formation, from idea to editing, from practice to feedback. The talk show has the participation of speakers: Architect Nguyen Hong Quang (founder of TOOB Studio), Tran Hieu Anh Nguyen (author), and photographer Trieu Chien – the people who directly created REPLY.
Not only stopping at introducing publications, the program also opens up discussion sections, exchanges with the audience, book signings and professional connections. This is also a typical activity in the long-term strategy of TOTO Vietnam – the co-organizer, to nurture the architectural community, encourage dialogue and promote sustainable and humane design values.

“REPLY – Simple Sounds” is not noisy, not ostentatious, but like a conversation with light, space and patient listening – True to the spirit that Toob Studio has pursued for over a decade.
