On the morning of March 22, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Publishing Association held a conference to implement publishing and publication publication in 2024.

Promote digital conversion in the industry

According to the report of publishing activities, published in 2023 and implementing the task in 2024, the whole country currently has 57 publishers belonging to 53 governing agencies, of which, 48 publishers are central, 9 Local publisher.

– In 2023, the total revenue of the whole industry reached more than 4.1 trillion dong (up 4.98%); pay more than VND 383 billion (up 8.5%).- Production capacity is calculated according to the publication rate per capita reaching 5.36 publication publications (down 11%). – There are 24/57 publishers participating in publishing and releasing electronics (up 26.3%), accounting for 42.1% of the total number of publishers. – The number of books has a large number of issues increases.

Electronic publishers are increasing and books have great growth, so the market of electronic publications in Vietnam has developed and started to beat with the development of the book market. Electronics of countries in the region and around the world, providing many electronic publications, meeting the basic needs of readers.

The application of technology and digital conversion in the industry has been promoted. By December 31, 2023, 24 publishers were confirmed to register electronic publications (up 26.3%), contributing to the rate of electronic publications/total publications achieved 15.3% and exceeded the target of 12%.

Regarding the inspection and handling of violations, in 2023, on the basis of the results of reading, checking and evaluating the publication of the cholinal diplomatic publication over 1,100 publications and reflection information, recommendations, the Publishing Department, Printing and release processed 25 violating publications (down 3.8%). Among them, there are 21 publications of violations of content (down 16%), 4 other violating publications (up 4 times).

In 2024, the field of publishing and releasing will focus on a number of key tasks: to continue researching and perfecting the publishing and release institutions. In particular, focusing on reviewing and studying the proposal to develop the Law amending, supplementing the Publishing Law and advising and developing the completion of the Decree replacing Decree 18/2014/ND-CP dated April 13, 2014 of the Government stipulating royalties in the field of journalism and publishing; Circular amending Circular No. 05/2016/TT-BTTTT dated March 1, 2016 stipulating the management and use of international standard book code; Advise comments on VAT in the field of publishing.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications said that innovation and creativity will be the main story of publishing. Need to innovate creatively on how to make books, distribution of books, business models and new cooperation. Each publisher must have its own identity. Need to continue building a digital platform for publishers, providing automatic and intelligent tools for bookmakers from the stage of composition, editing, introducing media, distributing multi -platforms, collecting anti -counter Readers’ return, data analysis. The Minister shared that the original book is a means of transmission. If there are new means of transmission on a digital environment, you should use. The root of writing is to create knowledge. Now there are new ways to create knowledge and new tools so that more people can create and spread knowledge. Publishers can become a platform that provides tools for many books, publishing and distribution.

The root to develop books and publishers is readers, there are many readers. That is, there is a market. So let’s start reading. Many countries have read hours in high schools. Prestigious people, politicians, businessmen, artists, celebrities please read and participate in the introduction. Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has directed a number of press agencies to re -establish the column “a one -day book” on television, in the newspaper.

The Minister said that the number of books that every Vietnamese read a year is not high compared to other countries in the region and the world, but the book is knowledge and knowledge that can come to every Vietnamese people more, the land New water can grow fast and sustainably.
