Launching Biennials Connect Grants 2025 – The British Council launches a program to fund artists participating in international events.

Biennials Connect Grants 2025 is a program launched by the British Council to support visual artists participating in international events in the UK, specifically: travel costs to attend Biennales/Festivals, production of new works, international networking, capacity development, and exhibition opportunities through relationships with biennale partners.

In 2025, the maximum funding will be £9,500 per project, representing collaboration between the UK and international partner events or local projects in eligible countries. The program aims to encourage creativity and connection between artists, cultural organizations, and the international community.

In the 2024–2025 funding round, 13 outstanding projects were selected, enabling over 19 visual and performance artists to participate in Biennales and Festivals in the UK and internationally. Some of the prominent names and events that have been supported include the Aichi Triennale (Japan), the Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival (UK), the ESC Biennale (Philippines), and projects in Brazil, Italy, and Ireland.

With its open policy, the program also provides opportunities for festivals and biennales in countries in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, including Vietnam. Arts organizations, artists, and cultural managers in Vietnam can collaborate with partners in the UK or internationally to submit applications.
