Responding to International Youth Day (August 12),Seminar Youth-led inclusive climate solutions: Advancing human development through youth-led, inclusive climate solutions taking place on August 12organized by UNDP and UN Women on the occasion of International Youth Day 2025. The workshop is a multi-dimensional dialogue space, connecting experts, businesses, civil society organizations and youth, to discuss ways to enhance innovation, cooperation and resource mobilization, empowering youth to build inclusive climate solutions for human development.

International Youth Day was initiated by the United Nations in 1999 to promote human rights and human development, especially for the young generation. This year’s International Youth Day, with the theme “Local Youth Action for SDGs and Sustainable Future”, brings a strong message about a sustainable future starting from the most familiar actions with the pioneering of young people.

The workshop is part of the series of events “International Youth Day 2025” taking place on August 12, held at the United Nations Building.
The roundtable discussion: “Advancing human development through youth-led inclusive climate solutions” attracted young people interested in human development, climate justice and the role of youth in climate governance, climate solutions that put people and the planet at the center, ensure gender equality and social inclusion and seek a multi-dimensional forum to raise their voices, connect experts and spread innovations.
Key topics discussed at the workshop included:
- The Link Between Climate Justice and Human Development;
- Mobilize resources (financial, human, knowledge) to support youth initiatives;
- Mainstreaming gender equality and inclusion into climate policy;
- Promote multi-sectoral collaboration to scale up the impact of solutions.
The event affirmed the proactive role of youth in responding to climate change. Youth are not only those affected, but also the pioneering force, with their creativity and energy to come up with practical and effective solutions, demonstrating that the United Nations and partners are committed to supporting Vietnamese youth in climate governance, empowering them to participate in policy-making processes and implement community initiatives.
