Water Initiative Presentation Day – UNESCO Water Challenge for Young Innovators 2025:

The idea presentation day within the framework of the program “UNESCO Water Challenge for Young Innovators 2025 – Innovate for water, act for the future” took place at the Green One UN House (Hanoi) on August 15, 2025. The event was organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Institute for Social Development Studies (IID), targeting the youth community under 30 years old nationwide.

Vietnam and the world are facing serious challenges regarding water resources, from increasing demand, decreasing supply, climate change, natural disasters to pollution and pressure from socio-economic development. In that context, the organizers hope to turn these challenges into opportunities to promote creativity and innovation, and encourage scientific, technological and social solutions to solve the problem in a sustainable way.

Attendance at the festival is 10The best team among 85 applications sent to the program. Together, they continued to write their story – the story of initiatives to protect water resources such as: Applying artificial intelligence to monitor water quality, solutions to improve seawater and alum water filtration technology, and a model of reusing wastewater into resources..

According to the statement ofMr. Jonathan Baker – UNESCO Representative in Vietnam, young people are the companions in creating a future where everyone in Vietnam and around the world has access to safe, sustainable and equitable water resources.

The contest also has the participation of 3 people.examinerwith academic depth and innovative thinking:

Dr. Nguyen Trung Dung– The person who laid the foundation for the innovative startup ecosystem in universities.

Ms. Tran Lan Huong– Head of Natural Sciences, UNESCO Vietnam, with more than 15 years of working with government agencies and development organizations in the fields of environment, climate change and natural resources

Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Huong Lan– One of Vietnam’s leading experts on water resources and climate change adaptation, with over 25 years of experience in research, teaching and policy consulting.

At the presentation, cTeams will receive in-depth feedback, engage with representatives from the United Nations and development organizations, and connect with a mentoring network and incubation program. The best initiative will receive VND25,000,000 in funding to develop its ideas.

The event is not only an opportunity to showcase innovative ideas, but also an opportunity to connect policymakers, scientists and businesses to find feasible and sustainable solutions to the current water resource problem.
